Details

Santa Margarita ranch. Our estate Margarita Vineyard stands alone and apart as the southernmost vineyard in the Paso Robles region, tucked beneath the peaks of the Santa Lucia Mountains just 14 miles from the Pacific Ocean. Here, in the Santa Margarita Ranch AVA, the vines unfold along a rare diversity of five soil types-ancient sea bed, rocky alluvium, shale, volcanic and granite-amid one of Paso Robles coolest growing environments. The resulting wines express an unmistakable sense of place, with fine structure and deep flavors that are native to Margarita Vineyard. The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon offers rich, layered flavors of blackberry, black currant and cocoa with soft, supple tannins. Recommended pairings include filet mignon, rack of lamb, and grilled pork chops. 35 degrees N & 120 degrees W. Alluvium, shale & volcanic. Doug Filipponi. Karl Wittstrom. Rob Rossi. www.ancientpeaks.com. Sip Certified: Sustainability in practice. Alc 14.5% by vol. Vinted and bottled by Ancient Peaks Winery, Paso Robles, CA.
